Migrating from CORE | TrueNAS Documentation Hub

TrueNAS users wanting to migrate from the latest FreeBSD-based 13.0 or 13.3 CORE release to the Linux-based TrueNAS version 24.10 or later can migrate to 24.04 and earlier using the UI update process, but must clean install if migrating to later releases. Attempting to migrate directly to 24.10 or later using the UI is not supported.

web UI からは選択できるっぽいが、実際使うのは駄目なのか？ 落とし穴すぎる。
なんにせよﾎﾞﾀﾝﾎﾟﾁｰでアップデートするよりも clean install する方が良さそうなので、準備が必要。

手順¶

1. バックアップ
   • 極度バックアップ(しなさい)
2. 移行できないものを確認する

   • VM とか jail とか使ってないので大丈夫だと思うけど。
3. 移行準備

   • ☑ 13.0 の最新リリースを利用中。
   • ☑ GELI 暗号化は使っていない。
   • ☑ root user は lock されていない。
   • ⚠ 諸々の設定を記録しておく。
   • ☑ SMB の auxiliary parameter settings は利用しておらず、すべて空になっている。
   • ⚠ ネットワーク設定を記録しておく。
   • ☑ deprecated S3 MinIO service は利用していない。
   • ⚠ 大事なデータのバックアップをとる。
   • ⚠ system configuration file と debug file をダウンロードする。
     • これは何かあったときに TrueNAS CORE で使う用なので、 TrueNAS CE 側で必要になるものではない。
   • ☑ deprecated services (DDNS, OpenVPN, Rsync, TFTP, WebDAV) は使っていない。
4. TrueNAS CE のインストール

   • ISO イメージを落としてきて USB メモリに焼く。

   • インストールする。

TrueNAS 25.04: Fangtooth is RELEASED

Current TrueNAS 13.x users looking for the new capabilities outlined above can migrate to TrueNAS 25.04, preserving data and essential NAS functionality such as SMB, NFS, iSCSI, and VM images. Once migrated, Docker and LXC can be set up to provide 3rd party Application services.

If you are a conservative user, we recommend waiting for a recommendation to upgrade. For current software recommendations, always review the Software Status page for recommendations based on your profile.

べつに急いで移行する必要はないのだが (ドライバとかの問題も抱えていないし)、日頃から SMB のパフォーマンスに不満があったので "Fast File Copy accelerates SMB workloads that copy files by 10X" とか言われてしまうと 25.04 に上げたくなる。
ハードウェア性能は十分余っているはずなので、ソフトウェアの改善を受けられるならその方が良い。
