release note を読まずに Raspberry Pi OS を bullseye から bookworm に in-place で上げようとしたら死んだ (それはそう)。

We have always said that for a major version upgrade, you should re-image your SD card and start again with a clean image.
This time, because the changes to the underlying architecture are so significant, we are not suggesting any procedure for upgrading a Bullseye image to Bookworm; any attempt to do this will almost certainly end up with a non-booting desktop and data loss. The only way to get Bookworm is either to create an SD card using Raspberry Pi Imager, or to download and flash a Bookworm image from here with your tool of choice.
HDMI 端子もないのに in-place upgrade できないのはあまりにダルいので、もう Raspberry Pi OS を使うのはやめる。
Debian をそのまま動かせるらしいので、サーバ用途 (hardware-accelerated graphics 不要) ならこれで十分そう。

chelsea で動いていたものは (chelsea 自身の監視用 node exporter を除くと)、家全体での消費電力を監視するための Prometheus 用の exporter (NOP Thread / house-exporter · GitLab) だけなので、今のところ被害は小さい。
なぜこれを chelsea で動かしていたかというと、スマートメータとの Wi-SUN 通信で USB デバイスが必要で、これをラックマウントのノードにつけるのが何となく嫌だった (というかコンテナか何かへのパススルーを設定することを考えたくなかった) ため惰性で chelsea に付けたというだけ。
そもそも chelsea は Bluetooth 通信用に置いてあったものだが今は Bluetooth 自体を監視やクラスタ内で使っていないので、 USB デバイスのパススルーさえできてしまえば chelsea 自体不要かもしれない。

USB device pass-through、 LXC でも VM でも思ったより簡単そう。
USB ケーブルの取り回しさえどうにかすればもうこれでいいか？
